Build Networks - Create New Alliances!
- Good Practice Examples for Protecting and Enlarging the Supply of Training Places in the Eastern States -
Protect existing training places and create new ones - by building networks and coming together in local training alliances! In 2004, with this objective in mind, once again companies, chambers, union facilities, providers of education and training, and regional authorities took part in the "Regional Cooperation for Training Places in the Eastern States" competition sponsored by the Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (BIBB). The competition, in its 5th year in 2004, was open both to projects that have already been put into practice and to new project ideas.01 Eleven diverse regional vocational education and training initiatives received awards for their efforts. The winning initiatives exemplify the ways that multiple players working together within networks and alliances successfully implement innovative ideas and projects for protecting and enlarging the supply of in-plant training places.
As in past years, the BIBB has compiled and published a collection of the submissions, so that others can learn from them and they can be used to help resolve training-related problems in other regions.
Around 70 initiatives from Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Brandenburg, Berlin, Saxony-Anhalt, Saxony and Thuringia are presented in the German-language publication "Regionale Kooperation für Ausbildungsplätze: Good Practice in den neuen Ländern 2004".
These good practice examples include
- Industry and occupation-specific collaboration, e.g., in the recreation and sports sector, IT and media occupations, and high-tech occupations;
- Information and consultation services provided in connection with the launch of new regulated occupations;
- Cross-border cooperation in the field of vocational education and training;
- Training-related services and services for the recruitment of skilled workers;
- Services involving early vocational guidance, occupational information and prevocational training;
- Projects for specific target groups.
The 11 award-winning projects and additional information about the competition results can be accessed in the Internet at www.regiokom.de the information and service platform of the Regio-Kompetenz-Ausbildung project.
