Department 2

Sociology and Economics of Vocational Education and Training

The many and diverse sociological aspects (training structures, statistics, vocational training planning) and the economic issues (costs, benefits, financing) involved in initial and continuing vocational training are grouped together in Department 2.
Drawing on fundamental knowledge it has obtained, the department's research work also has the aim of providing advice and information for vocational training policy decisions. These activities are particularly about being able to respond in a timely manner to changing qualification and training requirements.
