Finding a way through the jungle of support measures: www.staregio.de provides information about public programmes to support vocational education and training!
Providing support measures for cooperative training, making it easier for recently formed companies to start offering vocational education and training, supporting the training of disadvantaged young people, offering the necessary motivation to set up additional training places; these are just some of the aims of the Federal Government and Federal States as they launch new programmes every year to improve the training places situation in Germany and encourage the willingness of companies to provide training. The only question is, how can companies, educational providers, schools etc. find out what support they can expect to make their contribution towards the solution of the training places problem? The Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (BIBB) has, within the framework of the STARegio01 support programme it is implementing on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, set up an Internet portal which throws light on the jungle of support measures. From now on, the virtual archive of public programmes for the support of training in Germany can be searched under http://www.staregio.de and the right programme identified to realise any initiative.
In addition to this general search capability for all programmes, the Internet portal also offers a further service. http://www.staregio.de contains all important and up-to-date information about the support programme STARegio, the programme to gain additional training places by supporting regional projects and measures.02
This includes, amongst other things
-
- Information and advice about the application procedure and about STARegio03
- Access to all STARegio projects: a central project data base with documentation of the STARegio development in west Germany with an overview chart
- STARegio newsletter published quarterly
- STARegio events information and calendar
- STARegio publications
- Links
- The setting up of a non-public, password accessed members only area takes into account the wishes of the STARegio projects to be able to exchange information useful for the creation of additional training places. The comprehensive pool of information and knowledge which is gradually evolving is available to all project employees for their own research.
