Tasks and responsibilities

• Developing a communication and information strategy, preparing new communication concepts
• Organizing public relations work and BIBB's Internet offerings (national and international)
• Event management, visitor services
• Conducting general press work, supporting the PR activities pursued by the Institute's executive level
• Responsibility for and marketing of BIBB publications, transferring work findings in ways that are suitable for the respective target group and addressee
• Developing and preparing content for the Internet and Intranet, ongoing development of BIBB's Internet offerings, supporting the knowledge management system
• Editing the BIBB publications "Berufsbildung in Wissenschaft und Praxis (BWP)" (Vocational Training in Research and Practice), BWPplus and BWPspezial.

Section 1.2 has four areas of responsibility:

Press / Public Relations Work

• Tasks include informing the (trade) public about BIBB's current work and processing the findings' of the Institute's work for the individual PR target groups. This entails public dissemination of these findings through the BIBB Info Telegram, press releases, press conferences and talks with the press, presentations at trade fairs and exhibitions, hosting specialist conferences, colloquia and congresses, hosting visitors, and answering general enquiries.
  
  PR work targets daily newspapers, weekly publications, specialist journals, radio and television plus multipliers in companies, schools, universities, associations, unions and ministries who, in their work as practitioners, researchers and politicians, deal with VET-related tasks, issues and challenges. Section 1.2 uses a wide range of tools and Institute-organized events to stimulate, cultivate and develop the Institute's contacts to regional and national collaborative partners and to offices and individuals with an interest in BIBB's work.
  

Print Publications

• Presenting the results of the Institute's work on a target group-oriented basis and in ways that are appropriate to the respective address or medium; supporting the transfer of knowledge and information
• Editing research findings from a scientific standpoint, editing manuscripts
• Editing and overseeing the technical aspects of BIBB print publications, preparing texts for printing, releasing texts for printing
• Supporting collaboration with publishing houses that have signed framework agreements with BIBB
• Service and dispatch
• Product marketing
  

Internet / Intranet 

• Dealing with fundamental issues concerning the development of BIBB's Internet offerings
• Progressively developing the BIBB homepage www.bibb.de 
• Providing editorial services for BIBB's Internet and Intranet pages
• Gearing BIBB's Internet offerings to an international public
• Taking part in the BIBB knowledge management system
• Supporting projects that involve the creation of portals, databases and information systems on the Internet
• Progressively developing the infrastructure for operating and interlinking Internet offerings
• Maintaining the content management system and assisting its users
• Evaluating BIBB's Internet presence
