Information on vocational education and training directly from the experts:
BIBB at "didacta 2006 - the education fair" in Hanover
Information on initial and continuing vocational education and training directly from the experts: The Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (BIBB) will be on the spot again this year at "didacta", Europe's biggest education fair which is taking place from February 20 to 24 2006 in Hanover, in order to provide information in lectures, presentations and person-to-person conversations about current developments and prospects in vocational education and training.

Fair visitors will be able to find out there about, among other things,
- the BIBB's ongoing research work in the context of national and international vocational education and training,
- the wide spectrum of content of BIBB training materials for vocational education and training (publications, CD-ROMs, videos, on- and offline products),
- various e-learning programmes,
- the offers of the Vocational Education and Training Literature Database,
- the National Agency Education for Europe at the BIBB and the action programmes and initiatives of the European Union in the field of vocational and general education and training, for example
- Leonardo da Vinci, the EU action programme in vocational education and training,
- Socrates, the EU action programme in general education
Training / Qualification Forum

In a programme of lectures and presentations that changes daily (see under www.bibb.de/de/24305.htm on the Internet) BIBB experts present the current state of research and latest activities in the following topic areas:
- New developments in continuing vocational education and training (Monday, 20 Feb. 2006).
- vocational education and training for sustainable development, presented at the Forum in the context of a conference on the topic "didacta meets sustainability". The "transparent" event is open to the public and interested fair visitors are invited to attend and take part in the discussion (Tuesday, 21 Feb. 2006).
- Special groups (Wednesday, 22 Feb. 2006)
- Latest news from vocational education and training (Thursday, 23 Feb. 2006).
- "Jobstarter" - the new training structure programme of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (Friday, 24 Feb. 2006).
2006 Continuing Education Innovation Prize (Weiterbildungs-Innovations-Preis-WIP) Ceremony
(Monday, 20 Feb. 2006 at 4 p.m., Training / Qualification Forum)
The prize is awarded annually by the BIBB for innovative and trend-setting projects in the field of continuing vocational education and training. Five projects are presented that will be awarded the 2006 WIP this year. The awards ceremony will be under the patronage of the Minister President of the State of Lower Saxony, Mr Christian Wulff.
Conference on "New Media in vocational education and training - findings, concepts and examples of good practice" (Tuesday, 21 Feb. 2006, 10 a.m.-3.30 p.m., Fairgrounds, Convention Center, Room 2)
At this event, organised jointly with the Didacta Association, speakers present new concepts, approaches and examples of the use of computer-based and net-based media in vocational education and training (programme on the Internet at www.bibb.de/dokumente/pdf/veranstaltung_neue-medien_050221_flyer.pdf ).
