BIBB forum for training personnel - Now more attractive than ever!
More clearly structured, more informative, more user-friendly and practically barrier-free - this is all part of the new look of the recently revamped www.foraus.de homepage, the virtual information and communication forum that the Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training ("BIBB") operates for training personnel. Its services have been improved and the range of its offerings expanded, making it more attractive than ever. foraus.de currently has some 7,700 registered members - and counting. This makes it the largest online community for training personnel in Germany. With this forum, BIBB supports instructors and trainers in their daily work in firms, inter-company vocational training centres and educational facilities, teachers at part-time vocational schools and lecturers in the continuing vocational training field.
The relaunch has brought the following improvements:
- Straightforward navigation functions make it easier to quickly find vocational training-related information, learning modules and continuing training programmes.
- The already extensive news section was further expanded with the addition of a current events calendar.
- The use of modern forum software has improved the community functions in the members section.
- Functions that allow users to adjust the colour design, page structure and type size help give disabled persons close to barrier-free access to the online offerings at foraus.de.
Set up by BIBB in 2001, foraus.de provides a place where training personnel can exchange information and discuss current issues revolving around day-to-day training practice for free. It currently is home to 42 thematic forums that are moderated by experts. The spectrum of topics ranges from:
- Day-to-day training issues such as how to organize the first day of training, assessment systems for vocational education and training, and the electronic report book, to
- Issues involving training methods such as order-based learning or the implementation of process-related training regulations, all the way to
- Training the trainer.
One of the currently most popular forums focuses on questions about the potential effects of the amended Vocational Training Act.
The Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training wants to expand the services offered by this portal even further and address (highly) topical developments in in-company initial and continuing vocational training even more than in the past. The much frequented "pin board" - an open forum for questions directly related to vocational training - illustrates this need.
