"New Qualifications - New Tests": BIBB Symposium on the new metal and electrical occupations
Invitation to a Press Conference in Bonn on 30.11.2006
The Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (BIBB) is planning a public dis-cussion in cooperation with ministries, social partners and professional associations on the changes that need to be made in the examination forms for trainees in the redesigned metal and electrical occupations in the context of a two-day conference. More than 70,000 young people are presently being trained in the metal and electrical fields.
The changes in technology and in the organisation of work in the enterprises have resulted in new demands on skilled workers. Personal responsibility for scheduling, process orientation and quality management have become more important. These changes in qualification requirements must consequently be reflected in the examinations taken by the trainees. For that reason new testing structures and forms were laid down in the modernised training ordinances, e.g. ex-tended final exam, company project and practical task.
On behalf of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung - BMBF) the German Confederation of the Electrical and Electronics Industry (Zentralverband Elektrotechnik- und Elektronikindustrie - ZVEI) formulated practical elucida-tions and implementation aids for the testing regulations in the industrial and craft occupations of the electrical industry in cooperation with the German Confederation of Electrical and Infor-mation Technology Crafts (Zentralverband der Deutschen Elektro- und Informationstechnischen Handwerke - ZVEH) as well as the Metal Workers' Industrial Union (IG Metall) and with the help of the BIBB. These will be elucidated, new examination structures and forms will be discussed and examples of examination tasks for the new metal and electrical occupations will be pre-sented at the event.
We are happy if we have aroused your interest and invite you to attend a
