Mit der Verordnung über die Berufsausbildung zum Modisten / zur Modistin werden die Regelungen des Lehrlingswesens im Modistenhandwerk aus dem Jahre 1966 (HW) und über die Berufsausbildung zum Modisten / zur Modistin aus dem Jahre 1969 (IH) aufgehoben. In die neue Verordnung, die sowohl für das Handwerk als auch für die Industrie gilt, wurden ebenfalls die Ausbildungsinhalte des Hut- und Mützenmacherhandwerks (bisherige Regelung von 1939) integriert.
