Even better processing of results of vocational education and training research in the new KIBB Portal
More user-friendly, more service oriented and accessible - the new face which the Communication and Information System Vocational Education and Training (KIBB), operated by the Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (BIBB), has been presenting to the world recently. The http://www.kibb.dePortal has been completely overhauled both in terms of its appearance and the way in which it operates, bringing about a significant improvement in access to the content and results of VET research conducted in Germany.
The new elements:
- A knowledge map of the results of German vocational education and training research, recently expanded to encompass more than 850 projects. These projects have their origins in the Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training and the Vocational Education and Training Research Network (AG BFN), an amalgamation of numerous VET institutions.
- The newly created "Literature" area references thematic bibliographies and the monthly additions to the Vocational Education and Training Literature database.
- The "Announcements" area has been extended and provides a comprehensive and convenient overview of events and calls for tenders within themes relating to initial and continuing vocational education and training.
- KIBB is accessible with immediate effect.
The KIBB project has seen BIBB establishing a system of knowledge management for VET research in Germany. KIBB is funded by the Federal Ministry for Education and Research (BMBF) and is aimed at those conducting VET research, vocational education and training experts from the worlds of politics and government and to informed members of the general public interested in the topic.
KIBB also provides:
- access to over 40 VET information systems,
- an archive of enquiries recording questions directed at KIBB and making the responses developed by BIBB researchers on vocational education and training topics addressed available to a specialist public,
- a forum for the "Vocational Education and Training Research Network" (www.agbfn.de), documenting such events as conferences and congresses.
