WIP 2008: You can still win with continuing education and training!
Promoting innovative offers in the field of continuing vocational and in-company education and training; blazing a trail to new developments and thus helping to shape the future: These are the goals of the 2008 Innovation in Continuing Education and Training Prize (WIP), being offered this year for the eighth time by the Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (BIBB). And it pays off to participate: The five best concepts will receive cash prizes of 2,500 euros each. But the countdown has started: The deadline for applications is 31 July 2007.
Education service providers, organisations and institutions as well as enterprises in Germany and abroad that have developed innovative concepts for continuing vocational/in-company training are urged to take part in the competition for the 2008 WIP. The concepts must be geared to the teaching of technical, personal, social or methodological skills and must, for example,
- teach a new qualification profile with new qualifications,
- recombine traditional qualifications,
- add new qualifications to a profile,
- offer new target group specific qualification profiles,
- use new teaching and learning methods or forms of learning organisation,
- implement new concepts of qualification on the job or
- pursue new approaches to individual skills development.
Concepts for vocational preparation and initial vocational education and training for young people and those directed exclusively towards university-level graduates are excluded. An independent jury will decide who gets the prizes.
The prizes will be awarded at Germany's largest exhibition in the field of education, the "didacta - Education Trade Fair", which will take place from 19 to 23 February 2008 at the new Stuttgart fairgrounds. The awards ceremony will be held under the auspices of the Minister President of the State of Baden-Württemberg, Günther H. Oettinger. Reports on the prize-winners and the prize-winning measures will appear in the press, in specialised journals and on the Internet.
The application papers and conditions of participation for the 2008 Innovation in Continuing Education and Training Prize (WIP) and further information can be retrieved from the BIBB website under
