Report on Vocational Education and Training for the Year 2008: BIBB Board issues opinion on government's draft
The Board of the Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (BIBB) has examined and discussed the draft of the Report on Vocational Education and Training for the Year 2008 submitted by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF).
The groups on the Board representing labour, management and Germany's federal states have adopted a joint opinion on the draft Report on Vocational Education and Training for the Year 2008 and additionally issued their individual opinions on the report.
The Federal Ministry of Education and Research publishes the Report on Vocational Education and Training - a 'ledger' for vocational education and training with extensive comments and statistics on the current condition of and the outlook for initial and continuing vocational education and training in Germany - each spring after the federal cabinet has approved it.
Under German law, the BIBB Board has the task of advising the German government on fundamental issues involving vocational education and training. As prescribed by the Vocational Training Act, this includes issuing an opinion on the current Report on Vocational Education and Training. Representation on the Board is equally divided between labour, management, Germany's federal states and the federal government.
