"Structuring Training": new BIBB series of publications to support vocational training practice
The time of year has arrived again for hundreds of thousands of young people to begin their dual vocational education and training in small firms, in large companies and at public institutions. They have managed to obtain a training place and will now be turning their attention to the content of this training if they have not done so already. What do I need to learn in the next few years and when do I need to learn it? How do I prepare myself for the examinati-ons? There are, however, new challenges for training staff too, particularly in completely new occupations such as human resources services consultant or in occupations which have been modernised, such as hairdresser. How can I and how must I convey the new content? What changes to the examinations have taken place? Those involved in training practice are now to receive support in addressing all these issues in the form of the new series of German language publications issued by the Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (BIBB): "Structuring Training".

The series of publications features a modern design and has taken "designed by practice for practice" as its motto to reflect the fact that BIBB has worked in conjunction with experts from in-company and school-based training practice in developing the content. The explanations and implementation guides offer support to trainers, to vocational school teachers, to exam-iners and, not least, to the trainees themselves in conducting training and examinations effi-ciently and in a way which is closely aligned to occupational practice. Checklists, forms and planning templates featuring useful and practical tips are available for download from the CD-ROMS which are enclosed. BIBB's new series of publications is supplemented by further literature references and addresses.
The following explanations and implementation guides have been published so far in the German language "Structuring Training" series:
