www.prueferportal.org - New BIBB website for vocational training examiners
A new information and communication site on the internet - www.prueferportal.org - has been launched for the estimated 300,000+ examiners in the initial and continuing vocational training field. Developed by the Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (BIBB), the new portal offers information on everything important about the examination system and examiners' functions, and the chance to exchange views and experiences with other examiners - all at the click of a mouse.
Manfred Kremer, president of the Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training, views the work of examiners as an "important contribution toward quality assurance and quality development in vocational education and training". "Their voluntary involvement is what makes it possible at all to provide practice-oriented, qualified vocational training in skilled occupations in Germany. With its new website, BIBB is effectively supporting this responsible work."
Besides offering everything there is to know about examinations, the new portal also provides an overview of the legislation and regulations underlying the examination system plus current court rulings. Examination requirements in training regulations and the framework curricula for the individual occupations can be accessed at the new portal. Supplementing this, the portal also offers examples from day-to-day practice and materials for selected occupational profiles. Examiners-to-be can also quickly get a thorough insight into the work that a member of an examination committee does.
The portal also fosters an exchange between participants. For example, inquiries or reports can be posted on a 'pinboard'. Registered users also have the opportunity to participate in moderated forums. They can also have a protected virtual workroom set up if needed. A calendar of events and an electronic newsletter round out the information and services offered through the new portal
The new BIBB examiners portal was developed on behalf of and with the financial support of the Federal Ministry of Education and Training and in close collaboration with the social partners, chambers and experts from day-to-day examination practice.
