Prime Minister Wulff and BIBB President Kremer to award the 2009 "Prize for Innovation in Continuing Education and Training" (WIP)
BIBB at the "didacta" education fair in Hanover
This year's "Prize for Innovation in Continuing Education and Training" (WIP) will be presented on 12 February 2009 by the Prime Minister of Lower Saxony Christian Wulff and the President of the Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (BIBB) Manfred Kremer. The WIP (www.bibb.de/wip ) is awarded by the Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training every year to recognise innovative and forward looking ideas in continuing vocational training and in-company continuing training. The WIP 2009 will confer prizes on five outstanding projects, and the prize-giving ceremony (which will begin at 3:00 pm in Hall 15, Stand D 51) will provide one of the centrepieces of BIBB's activities at this year's "didacta" in Hanover. The "didacta" is the largest educational fair in Europe, and the Federal Institute will once again be maintaining a presence from 10 to 14 February offering information, presentations and discussions on current topics and perspectives relating to initial and continuing vocational training.
The BIBB exhibition stand (Halle 15, Stand D 49) will provide visitors to the fair with information on such topics as:
- the ongoing national and international research and development work the Institute is pursuing;
- the broad spectrum of BIBB training material on vocational training (publications, CD-ROM's, videos, online and offline products);
- the services of the Vocational Training Literature Database (www.ldbb.de) and
- "Training Plus" - the BIBB portal on additional qualifications and dual courses of study in vocational training (www.ausbildungplus.de).
BIBB is also organising the "Training/Skills" Forum to run in parallel to the above (Hall 15, Stand D 51). This will feature a daily programme of lectures and presentations in which vocational training experts will focus on the latest status of research and the most recent activities within the following main areas.
- International vocational education and training (Tuesday 10 February 2009)
- Vocational training for trainers (Wednesday 11 February 2009)
- New developments in continuing vocational training and the presentation of the 2009 BIBB "Prize for Innovation in Continuing Education and Training" (Thursday 12 February 2009)
- Career choice/vocational orientation (Friday 13 February 2009)
- Current vocational education and training (Saturday 14 February 2009)
