2006 Employee Survey conducted by BIBB/BAuA
Methodology and questionnaire design in comparison with the 1998 BIBB/IAB Survey; Discussion paper, issue 107
This report explains the methodology used in the 2006 Employee Survey conducted by the Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (BIBB) and the Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (BAuA) and outlines the methodological and content-related changes over the 1998 BIBB/IAB Survey.
The report contains a wealth of indicators regarding jobs, skills and occupational require-ments and on the use made of vocational qualifications; these indicators have not be covered in any other representative survey conducted in Germany to date. Telephone interviews were conducted with 20,000 wage and salary earners for the survey.
In addition, highly nuanced information regarding levels of formal vocational qualification was gathered and the field of the occupation that the respective respondent had learned was coded on the basis of the Federal Statistical Office's Classification of Occupations (KldB).
Disussion papers (in German) are available only from the BIBB-website
