AusbildungPlus - Vocational training programmes that include the option to earn additional qualifications are more popular than ever
Earning additional qualifications is becoming increasingly popular among trainees according to an analysis of the AusbildungPlus database. During the reporting year April 2007 through March 2008, demand for such offerings grew 4.3 per cent over the previous year. More than 81,000 trainees are currently participating in such programmes. The training companies that function as partners in this connection have also increased their offerings of this type by 5.7 per cent. Special focus this year was on how additional qualifications in the crafts and skilled trades field have developed. The findings here confirm the general trend. When they earn additional qualifications, trainees extend and deepen their skills, knowledge and competencies above and beyond the content they learn during their regular training. More than 2,200 different additional qualifications are currently offered in Germany.
