Information and facts about vocational education and training 'at the click of a mouse'
People looking for current information, data and analyses regarding initial and continuing vocational training in Germany should make a special note of the internet address www.bibb.de/datenreport where the Federal Institute for Vocational education and Training (BIBB) has just made the German version of its Data Report to the Report on Vocational Education and Training for the Year 2009 available as an online publication. This easy-to-use and user-friendly Internet service supplements the print version which BIBB published in June 2009. This new standard work from BIBB contains information about and analyses of initial and continuing vocational education and training. The BIBB Data Report constitutes the supplementary scientific, indicator-based data section to the Report on Vocational Education and Training issued by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research.
Until now, the online version of BIBB's new Data Report could be downloaded only as one complete PDF document. The enhanced HTML version features a clear structure which makes it easy to navigate the document. Colour coding enables quick orientation in each of the report's sections and sub-sections. The online Data Report also features a search function which helps users locate desired information quickly.
Whether it be diagrams, tables, charts or commentaries - all key data are available as downloads that can be accessed quickly "at the click of a mouse" via user-friendly links. They can also be printed out as required. Users will additionally find direct links to further information and underlying research findings.
In addition to offering the report featured in the print version, the new Internet platform also features further information, tables and charts which could not be included in the print version which is already very large at nearly 400 pages. The new Internet service's barrier-free design ensures that persons with an impairment or disability can inform themselves extensively about current developments in the initial and continuing vocational training field.
