German-Vietnamese inter-company vocational training centre
The planned establishment of a German-Vietnamese inter-company vocational training centre was the focus of a visit to Hanoi by German vocational training experts from 27 March to 1 April 2010. The visit revolved particularly around the content and didactic approach of the training to be provided at the new centre which is to concentrate on continuing vocational training in the mechatronics and renewable energy fields. The German delegation was comprised of representatives from the GTZ (German Agency for Technical Cooperation), various chambers of crafts and trades and the DIDACTA trade association for the education sector. During their meetings with the German experts, representatives of German enterprises located in Vietnam underscored that such a centre will be of great importance not only to Vietnam's trade and industry but also to German companies in the future because, for example, engineers and master craftsmen/technicians currently have to be flown in from Germany to perform skilled work that arises at their operations in Vietnam.
