Memorandum of understanding between BIBB and KRIVET

As part of the activities to mark BIBB's 40th anniversary, the president of BIBB and the president of the Korea Research Institute for Vocational Education & Training (KRIVET) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with which they agreed to continue the long-standing collaboration between the two institutes. Both Germany's vocational training system and South Korea's vocational training system are facing similar challenges which can be described with catchwords such as "demographic trend", "transition system - vocational orientation", "training for instruction personnel" and even "sustainable development". KRIVET in South Korea is directly answerable to the prime minister. The two institutes agreed to share directly information on and experience with selected topics in the future. In this connection, BIBB will provide input at the Green Korea conference that KRIVET will host in Seoul in early September of this year. An internal dialogue between experts at BIBB and KRIVET on the subject of the "transition between school and occupation" will be conducted in Seoul as well in early October. Furthermore, BIBB will welcome two guest researchers from KRIVET for longer research visits at the institute in Bonn this summer. This close succession of bilateral activities is aimed at fostering the exchange of information and experience between the two institutes and countries in the vocational education and training field and will make it possible for them to conduct joint projects in the medium term.
