Pilot project from BIBB, SEQUA and CONALEP

The "training of trainers" and the "integration of the Mexican private economy" into the Mexican vocational education and training system are two of the important main focuses of the work being conducted within the scope of the cooperation between BIBB and the Mexican national VET provider CONALEP (Colegio Nacional de Educación Profesional Técnica/National School System for Technical Vocational Education and Training).
These two main focuses are currently guiding the joint planning of a pilot project being undertaken by BIBB experts and experts from SEQUA and CONALEP. The aim of this pilot project is to expand CONALEP's current VET provision to encompass the "dual educational form". The occupational field of mechatronics has been selected as being particularly appropriate for this purpose and as constituting an interesting example for Mexico. The fact that Mexico has already gathered initial experiences with the introduction of dual structures in individual federal states over the past few years enables the system consultancy offered by BIBB to link in directly with existing structures. The pilot project is scheduled to begin in the 1st quarter of 2011.
In order to be able to draw comparisons within the field of industry involvement, CONALEP organised a study visit to Istanbul by a high ranking delegation of General Directors in December 2010. This trip included an inspection tour of an inter-company vocational training centre, which opened in 2007 with considerable support from BIBB and is considered to be an example of previous cooperation services provided by BIBB within an international context.
