A new look for the BIBB portals on VET support for disadvantaged young people and the transition from school to work
A trade and industry association is seeking to cooperate with other associations in the training of disadvantaged young people. A social education worker is searching for an example of good practice in second chance qualification for young people. A trainer is planning a training module for warehouse operators, and an employee at a federal state office is looking for a quick summary of what other federal states offer at the transition from school to work. For the past ten years, all of the above have been able to find answers to their questions in the online provision of the "Good Practice Centre" (GPC) at the Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (BIBB). In order to provide even better and faster support for the work of VET experts in future, the "VET support for disadvantaged young people online" and "LänderAktiv" portals have been revised. The GPC at BIBB has introduced modern design elements to provide new content emphases and to make the sites optically appealing.
he motto underlying the restructuring of the content and of the web design is to make the presence more innovative, more informative and easier to use. The sites' full text search function has also been structured in a more user-friendly manner in order to enable all vocational education and training specialists to obtain their results even more quickly and in an even more target oriented way in future. The "Good Practice" area has been given a new design concept. Quality criteria have been put in place to enable all interested parties to understand what actually characterises "good practice", and new field reports provide clear descriptions of what everyday "good practice" looks like. The next stage of development has already been planned, the aim being to revise the GPC databases in the near future and structure them in a more user-friendly way.
The Good Practice Centre at BIBB has been fostering the exchange of views between VET experts for ten years and provides extensive information and materials as well as practical experiences of VET support for disadvantaged young people and the transition from school to work.
