Training for less complex occupations
BIBB Standing Committee issues recommendation
The Standing Committee of the Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training is by statute assigned the task of providing the Federal government consulting on fundamental issues relating to vocational education and training.
The Committee, which is composed of equal number of representatives of employers, employees, the Länder and the Federal government, deliberated over the topic of "training for less complex vocations" on July 10, 2003, and issued a recommendation by majority vote:
To quote:
Recommendation to establish new recognised training occupations with less complex requirements for qualified skilled labour
The Standing Committee of the Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training welcomed the suggestions on training strategies for sustained fields of activity which are useful to the labour market with less complex requirements serving as the basis with which to create respectively recognised training vocations for qualified skilled labour.
It advocated the rapid creation of such training professions for the fields of industrial production, commerce, assembly and recycling, repair and maintenance, assistance and support, organisation, leisure time and logistics with the aim of issuing initial training regulations and establishing additional training opportunities as early as 2004.
