The Indian National Skills Development Cooperation (NSDC) and BIBB held a joint workshop in Delhi on 23 March on the theme of "Development of Occupational Standards and Training Curricula - The German Way". Around 60 political and economic delegates took part in the event, including the top-level representatives of the Directorate General of Employment & Training (DGET), the NSDC and the Central Staff Training and Research Institute (CSTARI), organisations that already cooperate with BIBB under the auspices of the German-Indian Working Group on Vocational Education and Training. Talks given by BIBB experts were rounded off with presentations from the practice of VW, the Metro Group and FORUM Berufsbildung. In the subsequent discussion, thought was given to how these curricula and standards could be adapted appropriately to India's needs. Following the successful kick-off workshop, NSDC and BIBB agreed to continue the joint workshop series on the "Occupational Standards" theme.
