Working groups discussing the structure of the 2011 vocational training report
At a workshop held in Hanoi on 10 and 11 April 2012, more than 30 Vietnamese experts from the Institute for Vocational Training Research (NIVT), assisted by experts from BIBB and the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), discussed the structure of a national TVET report in a number of working groups. This first 'pilot' report for the year 2011 is to be presented in October at the regional VET conference for ASEAN nations in Hanoi which is being organised by Germany's Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and Vietnam's Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA).

This joint work is being conducted on the basis of a trilateral cooperation agreement between MOLISA, BIBB and the GIZ. The workshop continues the efforts begun at a workshop conducted by these three institutions in June 2011. The workshop in April began with introductory presentations by BIBB and the NIVT, which were followed by a discussion of experience gathered with vocational training reports in Germany and the importance of collecting and processing data. It was agreed that the structure of the Vietnamese TVET report would focus on the areas "occupational standards", "instructor training", "financing" and "cooperation between VET institutions and enterprises". These focal areas will also provide the key topics for the regional vocational training conference being held in Hanoi in October.
