All good things come in threes: BIBB moves to new offices!
Germany's Federal Institute for Vocational Training (BIBB) is moving to its permanent offices in Bonn starting November 28, 2003 0 its third move in four years. During the first week in December, BIBB's team of approximately 500 staff members will be taking up resi-dence in its newly renovated offices in the first five stories of the former Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications building at Robert-Schuman-Platz 3 in Bonn. BIBB already has neighbours there: the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety and the Museum Foundation for Posts and Telecommunications already have their offices in the commanding building which was inaugurated in 1987.
BIBB first changed its address in 1999 when its offices were transferred from Berlin to Bonn. At that time, the Institute set up office in Bonn's landmark "Langer Eugen" building direct on the Rhine River. BIBB then moved "around the corner" to Friedrich-Ebert-Allee 38 when urgently needed renovation work required it to move out of its premises in Langer Eugen. This move was undertaken with the understanding that BIBB would return to its offices once this work was finished. These plans however had to be changed when it was decided to inte-grate Langer Eugen into the future UN campus. With the help of the Federal Ministry of Edu-cation and Research, an appropriate substitute was found with the former posts ministry. And thanks to the Federal Office for Building and Regional Planning's active assistance, BIBB is moving to its new 0 and permanent 0 domicile yet this year despite having had to change its plans at short notice.
