Duration of traineeship

3 years
The venues for training are company and part-time vocational school (Berufsschule).

Field of activity

 Investment fund specialists work principally in fund accounting and fund controlling as well as in the securities deposit service. In addition they perform preparatory and supporting work for decision-making in the creation and administration of funds. For this they analyse securities and markets. Investment specialists can be employed in all areas of an investment company. They also work in financial institutions, insurance companies and securities handling companies.

Occupational skills

Investment fund specialists

  • look after securities deposits and handle customer orders

  • implement decisions by the fund management in fund accounting

  • book current business operations and carry out daily fund balances

  • calculate inventory values and share prices of special funds

  • create reports and notices for internal and external agencies

  • calculate taxes for funds and securities deposits

  • analyse money, capital and securities markets

  • demonstrate advantages and disadvantages of property locations

  • prepare decisions by fund management and complete commercial contracts

  • are responsible for different marketing channels, implement marketing measures

  • In doing this

  • they use their foreign-language skills,

  • work in a team, process and project orientated manner,

  • moderate and present,

  • use current information and communications technology systems and

  • employ their communications, cooperation and problem-solving skills.
