Field of activity

Electronics technicians for motors and drive technology manufacture windings, assemble, put into operation and maintain electrical machines and drive systems.
Typical fields of activity are manufacturing facilities, service divisions, construction sites and test laboratories.
Electronics technicians for motors and drive technology work independently, observe the relevant regulations and safety rules and coordinate their work with the preceding and following activities. They often work as part of a team. They are qualified electricians within the meaning of the regulations for the prevention of accidents.

• analyse customer requirements, design drive systems;
• set up production machines;
• record and catalogue machine and winding data, manufacture windings;
• disassemble and assemble electrical machines;
• install cables and other apparatus;
• install mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical and electronic components, put electrical machines into operation;
• assemble and wire switch cabinets, including measurement and control equipment, assemble drive systems;
• create, modify and monitor control technology programs; initialize frequency converters, put drive systems into operation;
• seek faults in and repair electrical machines and complex drive systems in a systematic manner;
• maintain and monitor electrical machines and drive systems in operational use, carry out remote diagnostics;
• also work with English-language documents and communicate in English.
