Duration of traineeship

3 years
The venues for training are company and part-time vocational school (Berufsschule).

Field of activity

Visual marketing designers work in commerce, at trade fairs, exhibitions and in industry. Their fields of activity include sales promotion, presentation of goods, products and services, advertising, events, publicity and promotions.

Occupational skills

Visual marketing designers

  • develop and realise visual design concepts which communicate the corporate philosophy and support sales promotion,
  • present goods, products and services and use customer and sales trends for their visual design concepts,
  • design sales, presentation and exhibition rooms,
  • cooperate with sales and exhibition departments as well as other design and advertising occupational groups,
  • utilise the effects of light, form, colour and other design elements to promote sales,
  • plan and organise events, customer forums and promotions,
  • acquire and use materials and presentation resources in an economic and environmentally-sound manner,
  • use graphics, layout and image processing programs,
  • carry out calculations and efficiency reviews.
