The venues for training are the company and part-time vocational school (Berufsschule)

Field of activity

Specialists in food technology produce foods using industrial techniques and processes on the basis of predetermined recipes. Their activities include taking delivery of process inputs, autonomous control of production and packaging processes as well as quality management.

Other tasks include the cleaning and maintenance of equipment and machinery, in particular to ensure hygienic conditions and product quality.

Specialists in food technology often work in teams.

Occupational skills

Specialists in food technology

  • plan and organize work processes to job order specifications,
  • control, operate and check production equipment and packaging facilities, observing rules relating to health and safety at work, environmental protection and quality management,
  • recognize faults in operations and take action to ensure smooth operation,
  • store ingredients properly,
  • clean and maintain equipment and machinery,
  • document process and quality assurance data,
  • use communications technology.
