The venues for training are company and part-time vocational school (Berufsschule).

Field of activity

Roller shutters and sunshade mechatronic technicians work in workshops, on building sites, in and on buildings and on other structures.

Occupational skills

Roller shutters and sunshade mechatronic technicians

  • carry out their work independently and in a customer-oriented manner on the basis of work orders or plans, both alone and as part of a team, and coordinate their work with other crafts and trades,
  • plan and document their work, determine operational procedures, necessary materials and semi-finished products, register time and quantities involved, calculate services performed and take measures for safety and health protection on the job as well as environmental protection in the workplace,
  • conduct talks with customers and deliver their work to the customers,
  • carry out quality assurance measures,
  • make shutter curtains, fabrics and shutter panels,
  • make and install roller shutters, rolling blinds, rolling doors and grilles as well as roller shutter and window combinations,
  • install non-rolling blinds and shutters,
  • install drives and control components and systems,
  • carry out functional tests as well as maintenance and repair work,
  • carry out safety and anti-burglar measures during production and installation,
  • measure dimensions, draw up working documents and apply technical documents,
  • set up, secure and dismantle workplaces,
  • erect and dismantle scaffolding and utilise transport equipment,
  • work and process materials and ancillary materials as well as semi-finished products,
  • use tools and operate and maintain equipment, machines and technical plant.
