Occupational skills
Extensive real estate management skills are required for the various types of operation found in the real estate business. These include a knowledge of real estate, construction and rent law, tax and contract law as applicable to constructions, and also an understanding of the occupation-related provisions of real estate agency, construction development and competition law. Also required are skills in monitoring and analysing the market with a view to developing appropriate marketing strategies and a sound knowledge of accounting in order to identify key parameters for planning and control purposes.
Real estate management clerks perform their assignments on a self-reliant and client-oriented basis within the framework of predetermined corporate goals.
They are competent in both occupation-specific and general commercial matters, understand how each element of business management affects others, and are familiar with the organizational aspects of work processes. They are capable of assessing the impact of their activities on other functional areas and use modern information and communication technologies in carrying out their duties.
Performing the duties of a real estate management clerk calls not only for occupation-specific competence but also for methodological competence and social skills. Indispensable are also an ability to solve problems, to communicate and to cooperate; likewise required are flexibility, creativity, initiative and a sense of responsibility.
Real estate management clerks have a detailed knowledge of their company's products and services and those of its competitors and also understand the importance of the real estate business within the economy as a whole. They are informed about important factors which can affect their field of business, and have an understanding of environmental protection and the importance of operations control and modern business management.
