Transport services clerks are employed in transport companies or transport corporations. They are counsellors on matters of safety and service in passenger transport and carry out business and commercial duties. Their main responsibilities are providing direct customer services.
Transport services clerks specializing in sales and service are employed in local sales and service centres or take care of passengers during transportation.
Transport services clerks specializing in safety and service are employed in transport facilities and on means of transport.

Occupational skills

Transport services clerks specializing in sales and service

  • hold information and counselling sessions geared to the situation and target group concerned;
  • advise and take care of particular groups of persons;
  • operate and control technical service facilities;
  • calculate estimates for additional services;
  • sell products and services;
  • provide information on itineraries and prices;
  • provide assistance in advertizing measures;
  • process complaints;
  • procure and manage operating materials and consumables.

Transport services clerks specializing in safety and service

  • hold information and counselling sessions geared to the situation and target group concerned;
  • advise and take care of particular groups of persons;
  • operate and control technical service facilities;
  • calculate estimates for additional services;
  • plan and implement preventive measures in accordance with safety-guaranteeing deployment principles;
  • make appropriate use of their intervention powers;
  • implement security procedures for specific groups of persons and institutions;
  • make precautions to ensure safety in the handling of hazardous substancesand particularly sensitive goods;
  • identify safety shortcomings, and develop and present proposals to overcome such shortcomings;
  • take appropriate action in the event of failure of technical safety equipment.
