Duration of traineeship

3 years
The venues for training are company and part-time vocational school (Berufsschule).

Field of activity

Agricultural services specialists work on plant farms and with private farming contractors and agricultural technology service providers.

Occupational skills

Agricultural services specialists

  • conduct their work independently and as part of a team on the basis of work contracts, observing the regulations regarding environmental protection, health and safety at work
  • plan and document their work, specify working steps, and check and evaluate their work results
  • evaluate operations and assist in organising the farm
  • use communication and information technologies on the farm and when dealing with customers
  • carry out quality assurance measures
  • use and maintain agricultural technology and service it
  • operate agricultural machines
  • conduct plant production measures
  • cultivate the soil
  • bring out seeds and plants
  • conduct fertilising and plant protection measures
  • evaluate plant stocks during the vegetation process
  • harvest, store and preserve plant products
  • conduct landscape protection measures.
