 The venues for training are company and part-time vocational school (Berufsschule).

Field of activity

Upholstery and interior furnishings seamers/seamstresses work in enterprises specialising in interior decoration, in the upholstered furniture industry, for stitching companies producing ready-made cur-tains and in enterprises offering services in this field, e.g. in interior decoration and interior furnishing departments in department stores.

  • Production of curtains and interior furnishings
  • Production of upholstery made of textiles and leather
  • Production of covers and antimacassars
  • Selection and processing of working materials and auxiliary materials
  • Use and maintenance of tools and machines
  • Completion of decoration and finishing work
  • Installation, operation and servicing of sewing machines and ironing systems
  • Production of cutting patterns and cuttings, ensuring the efficient use of materials
  • Preparation of work sequences
  • Use of information and communications technologies
  • Production of working documents and completion of measurements
  • Evaluation and documentation of work results and implementation of quality assurance measures.
