- Audiovisual media producersadvise programme staff on designing and planning productions and make the preparations for such productions;
- select and operate the necessary equipment;
- inspect recordings, obtain audio and video material from archives, and carry out any necessary format and technical standard conversions;
- make sound recordings and process, mix and edit speech and music;
- make audio and video recordings either independently or together with camerapersons;
- process audio and video recordings at an editing desk;
- carry out video mixing in cooperation with directors and camera teams, including during live broadcasts.
5. Particular requirements:
Because of their broad-based training, media producers are qualified for working with others in a production team. They are employed in television and radio broadcasting studios, for outside broadcasts, on recording teams, in audio and video material processing and in broadcasting. They are able to adapt readily to new workplaces and can be actively involved in all production stages, particularly in small production teams.
