The venues for training are the company and part-time vocational school (Berufsschule)

Field of activity

Screen printers work in craft and industrial enterprises. They are trained for the independent preparation of analogue and digital masters in the screen printing pre-stage, the production of screen printing formes as well as the production of screen printing products. They analyse concrete work tasks, select product-specific materials and processing paths and carry out order-related production planning. They work in a customer-oriented manner, taking into account economic and ecological aspects as well as the purpose of the finished product and the technical conditions of the production process.

Occupational skills

Screen printers

  • plan production processes independently and as part of a team,
  • accept, transfer and convert analogue and digital data for making screen printing formes, production,
  • make screen printing formes for various purposes,
  • select and use screen printing inks and substrates for the respective purposes,
  • make screen printing machines ready and print single and multicolour line and halftone prints at the same time checking and optimising the printing process in accordance with quality standards and the printer's copy,
  • apply product and production-specific after-print processing techniques,
  • carry out measuring and testing activities as part of quality management.

In addition to the basic training common to all trainees, the training can be matched through optional training units to fit various fields of activity in keeping with products and production types.

These include in particular:

  • digital printing pre-stage and screen printing forme production,
  • digital printing,
  • web-fed screen printing,
  • sheet-fed screen printing,
  • body screen printing,
  • technical screen printing,
  • textile screen printing,
  • ceramic screen printing,
  • glass screen printing,
  • pad printing.
