The venues for training are the company and part-time vocational school (Berufsschule).

Field of activity

Salespersons specialising in foodstuffs serve and advise customers. They work in sales and production areas.

Occupational skills

Salespersons specialising in foodstuffs are responsible for

  • serving customers and taking orders
  • advising customers regarding raw materials, ingredients, production processes and the use of commodities or products
  • taking customer requirements into account and observing company behavioural standards 
  • conducting conversations regarding product sales, and offering advice and information
  • advising customers regarding corporate catering services
  • creating products and dishes, and presenting them attractively
  • accepting goods and storing them in the appropriate manner
  • packaging goods
  • presenting goods and products, and decorating displays and sales areas
  • using different forms of advertising
  • preparing facilities, machines and instruments, operating, maintaining and cleaning them 
  • observing trade law regulations, and laws and regulations regarding foodstuffs
  • operating the cash till, producing delivery notes and invoices, maintaining lists of goods received and stocks, preparing offers and conducting inventories
  • planning working procedures in a team-oriented manner, checking and assessing working results and using quality management systems
  • communicating electronically, using the appropriate procedures and appliances
