 The venues for training are the company and part-time vocational school (Berufsschule).

Field of activity

 Wicker workers work predominantly in workshops for small businesses.

Occupational skills

 Wicker workers are responsible for

• producing wicker goods, wicker furniture and other wicker items

• designing and creating wicker items and presenting their designs

• handling and maintaining appliances, machines and templates

• processing materials including auxiliary materials

• checking and monitoring the quality of materials including raw materials

• finishing surfaces

• presenting wicker products

• storing and dispatching products

• maintaining and repairing wicker products

• conducting quality assurance measures

• planning and preparing working procedures and setting up jobs

• conducting their work independently in an efficient, customer-oriented manner on the basis of work orders or plans, both independently or as part of a team, and coordinating their activities with other trades

• planning and documenting their work, determining working steps, selecting the necessary equipment, materials and auxiliary materials, calculating the quantities and time required, and presenting invoices for services provided

• taking measures to ensure safety and to protect health at work, as well as to protect the environment in the workplace

• using information and communication technologies
