Duration of traineeship

3 years
 The venues for training are the company and part-time vocational school (Berufsschule).

Field of activity

Specialists in furniture, kitchen and removal services work in kitchen and furniture trading companies, as well as in furniture removal companies. They usually work at the customer premises in the residential and business field.

Occupational skills


Specialists in furniture, kitchen and removal services are responsible for

  • mounting kitchen and furniture parts and assembling and dismantling kitchens and furniture
  • checking and securing stocks of goods
  • processing kitchen and furniture parts
  • installing electrical facilities and appliances
  • creating connections to water pipes and ventilation units
  • picking up kitchens, furniture and appliances or goods to be removed, and dispatching them
  • performing packaging, storage and transportation tasks
  • handling, operating and maintaining tools, appliances, machines, transport materials and means of transport, 
  • processing and finishing wood, woodwork and other materials
  • checking bills and delivery documents and accepting payments
  • planning and documenting their work, and applying safety and health protection measures at work, as well as environmental protection measures
  • processing data
  • setting up, securing and clearing workplaces
  • conducting their work independently, in a customer-oriented and efficient manner, based on work orders, either alone or as part of a team, and coordinating their work with others involved
  • handling complaints
  • conducting quality assurance measures
