Mechatronics engineers for refrigeration and air conditioning technology work predominantly in trade companies offering the assembly, conversion and maintenance of refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pump technology plants.

Occupational skills

Mechatronics engineers for refrigeration technology

  • Assemble refrigeration and air conditioning plants, systems and components and commission them
  • Install electro-technical and electronic plant components
  • Conduct insulation, corrosion protection and fire protection measures
  • Programme measuring, control and regulation facilities
  • Conduct functional and safety checks
  • Maintain refrigeration and air conditioning plants, systems and components
  • Optimise refrigeration and air conditioning plants in compliance with economic and ecological considerations
  • Disassemble refrigeration and air conditioning plants, systems and components 
  • Convey refrigeration agents, coolants and refrigeration machine oils to be recycled or to be disposed of in an environmentally sensitive manner
