Duration of traineeship

2 years
The venues for training are the company and part-time vocational school (Berufsschule).

Field of activity

Product testers for textiles detect and rectify errors in textile production fieldsin which high-quality products are manufactured, e.g. in weaving, stitching and knitting mills and in the production of clothing.

Occupational skills

Product testers for textiles

  • are familiar with the different textile production and processing procedures, together with ready-to-wear clothing and assembly techniques
  • plan working steps and processes and document these
  • analyse sample patterns, and determine construction techniques and product features
  • identify finish and construction errors and classify these
  • apply techniques for rectifying errors
  • evaluate test results and draw up test reports
  • assess the quality of products
  • observe customer requirements and process complaints
  • observe the basic principles of work safety and health and environmental protection
