1. Field of work and areas of responsibility 

Certified industrial supervisors specializing in textiles are qualified to undertake job-specific technical, organizational and management tasks in the corporate fields of "Maintenance of production" and "Manufacturing". They are qualified and authorized to provide company-based training and further training (training skills).

2. Occupational skills 

Certified industrial supervisors specializing in textiles have many years of work process and business process-related experience which they have as a rule acquired through relevant initial vocational training and further practical work. In order to perform the above-mentioned tasks, they command the following skills:
2.1 Job-related pedagogical skills
- General basic knowledge
- Planning of training
- Cooperation in the recruitment of trainees
- On-the-job training
- Supporting the learning process
- Group training
- Completion of training
2.2 General skills
- Application of legal and business management principles
- Application of information, communication and planning methods
- Cooperation in the enterprise
2.3 Job-specific skills
· in the area of technology
- Setting up workplaces and ensuring their ergonomic design
- Selecting, monitoring and optimizing production processes
- Starting and monitoring plants and equipment
- Locating and eliminating troubles
- Planning, organizing and monitoring maintenance activities
- Turning  technological  developments to practical use
· in the field of organization
- Planning, implementing and monitoring work processes
- Drawing up capacity and cost plans, monitoring cost development and budget plans

    3. Skills accreditation 

    According to the Federal Government regulation of 17 January 2006 (Federal Law Gazette BGBl. Part I p. 74), the certified industrial supervisor specializing in textiles must have demonstrated the skills listed in section 2 above in an examination administered under public law with a focus on practical application and job-related skills. A certificate is awarded on passing the examination.

    4. Examination requirements 

    Zur Prüfung zum Geprüften Industriemeister/zur Geprüften Industriemeisterin - Fachrichtung Textilwirtschaft wird zugelassen, wer über einen Abschluss in einem anerkannten Ausbildungsberuf, der den Berufen der Textilwirtschaft zugeordnet werden kann, sowie eine mindestens  einjährige Berufspraxis verfügt oder eine vergleichbare Qualifikation nachweist. Ferner muss der Erwerb berufs- und arbeitspädagogischer Qualifikationen und damit die Ausbildereignung nachgewiesen werden.Zur Vorbereitung auf die Meisterprüfung werden auch Bildungsmaßnahmen angeboten, deren Dauer sich an den differenzierten Funktions- und Führungsaufgaben orientiert.
