Funding programmes
The German government expends enormous amounts of public funds to make up for shortages in the number of in-company training places. Employment offices, the federal government, state governments and the European Union finance a broad spectrum of training place programmes. Government activities give centre stage to remedial funding - in other words, partial direct government financing for in-company training places or the full external financing for non-company vocational training places. Nonetheless, a large share of funding activities are set up to help build structures in the vocational education and training system and further raise the level of the system's quality. Fostering special target groups constitutes another priority. This page offers an overview of these funding programmes.
