National Reference Point for Transparency of Vocational Qualifications (NRP)
Duties of the NRP
We intend to
- offer Certificate Supplements to the german state-recognised training occupations in the internet.
- offer informations about the german (vocational-) education-system.
- be the first contact-point concerning questions about national qualifications, certificates and certificate supplements.
- answer inquiries via E-Mail directly or forward them to the competent authority.
- work in a European network of NRP's with related responsibilities.
Cerfificate Supplement
The Certificate Supplement is one of several instruments for the description of qualifications acquired with the leaving-certificate. The intention is, to make vocational leaving-certificates easier understandable for the reader, particularly, if the reader is an employer or an institution in an other country as the exhibitory country.
The Certificate Supplement is not a individual document but rather a document which describes characteristic qualifications of a vocation. The Certificate Supplement has no own legal status, it refers always to the original certificate and depends on it.
The Federal Institute of Vocational Education and Training (BIBB) was commissioned by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) to establish the german national reference point for transparency of vocational qualifications (nrp) in 2002/ 2003.
