Jobstarter - Für Zukunft ausbilden
The JOBSTARTER Programme promotes innovation and structural development in vocational education and training at a nationwide level. It aims to deliver a better regional supply of company-based training places for young people by getting companies to offer training. The programme funds projects which acquire additional company-based training places in the regions and provides support for the filling of such places. JOBSTARTER is financed from funding made available by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and the European Social Fund. It provides significant support for the activities of the "National Pact for Training and Young Skilled Workers in Germany". BMBF funding of €125 million is available for the programme until 2013. This figure includes the monies provided by the European Social Fund. JOBSTARTER is implemented by the JOBSTARTER Programme Office, which is housed at the Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (BIBB).
JOBSTARTER CONNECT is a new BMBF programme which, against the background of demographic change, aims to secure the requirement for skilled workers and improve transition to the dual system by piloting nationally standardised training modules. JOBSTARTER is also responsible for managing the VerA initiative launched by the Senior Expert Service. The objective of VerA is to avoid training dropouts. In order to achieve this goal, senior experts offer support to trainees and seek to identify possible solutions for the wide range of problem situations they face, regardless of whether these difficulties are of a professional, school-related, social or family nature.
