Induction processes and development of career entrants as an indicator for the output and outcome of educational systems
This project is a feasibility study for a cross-national representative survey design that looks at companies' recruitment patterns and measures of supporting induction processes for graduates and labour market entrants. It aims at getting an overview on the different strategies and measures of the use competences and their development that enterprises employ in supporting individuals that work on an intermediate level of skilled work. In order to narrow down the number of independent variables this cross-national research will focus on selected similar domains of occupational activities (car-service, industrial clerks, IT service technicians).
One of the assumptions behind this is that an overview on those strategies can be regarded as an indirect indicator of the knowledge, skills and abilities that are and that are not an outcome of the educational system and the phase of transition from education to work.
