CVTS 2 - Assessment of the Second Vocational Training Survey
Assessment of the Second Vocational Training Survey (CVTS 2)
Comparative Analysis of Continuing Vocational Training on the Basis of CVTS 2 Results (Leonardo-II Projekt)
The Second European Continuing Vocational Training Survey (CVTS 2) was conducted in the year 2000. The goal of the survey was to obtain comparable data for all European Union Member States on the quantitative and qualitative structures of continuing vocational education and training in enterprises. Also participating in the survey were 9 candidate countries and Norway.
Enterprises with ten or more employees from the economic spheres of manufacturing, commerce, the hotel and restaurant industry, transport and communications, the insurance and loan industry and the services were included in the survey. All in all, about 76,000 enterprises participated in the survey, 3,184 of them in Germany.
The European Commission plans to make the European Continuing Vocational Training Survey a regular institution. The next survey is scheduled for the year 2006.
The Federal Institute for Vocational Training as Project Coordinator is working together with research institutes from five European countries to evaluate the data of the European Continuing Vocational Training Survey in the context of the international Leonardo da Vinci project "Assessment of the Second Vocational Training Survey (CVTS-2). Comparative Analysis of Continuing Vocational Training on the Basis of CVTS-II Results".
The main goal of the project is to evaluate the survey results from the 25 European countries taking part in the survey. The analysis and also the propagation of the survey results involve two main strands: the assessment of the statistical/methodological problems of the CVTS-2 survey (method report) and the assessment and comparative analysis of the survey results.
