Inter-company vocational training facilities and skill centres
Planning and funding inter-company vocational training centres
Using funds from the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, the Institute for Vocational Education and Training supports the modernization, expansion and equipping of inter-company vocational training centres. This is done with the aim of putting small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) in a position to provide in-company vocational training or improving their ability to provide training. Because they are specialized, not all SMEs are able to teach on an in-company basis all the training content that training regulations stipulate. By providing supplementary initial and continuing training, inter-company vocational training centres ensure that SMEs nation-wide are able to provide initial and continuing in-company vocational training that takes into account current technological developments and the latest in educational theory. This also establishes the conditions needed so that even companies that have not provided in-company vocational training to date are able to create urgently needed training places.
