National Agency - "Education for Europe" at BIBB

Tasks and aims of the National Agency - Education for Europe at BIBB

For the National Agency at BIBB, the organisation of a European Education Area and the successful implementation of the EU Education Programme for Lifelong Learning (the Leonardo da Vinci and Grundtvig programmes) represent an enormous challenge for the coming years and its job is to help meet this challenge.
The aim of the National Agency's work is to make it possible for Europe's citizens to work in any country in Europe without any restrictions, using skills and qualifications they have acquired. Another aim is to mainstream European cooperation in the work and identity of actors in the education system. Being open to innovation, equality of opportunity and a readiness for change are all important elements in this process. Education systems are to be made more transparent for the people living in Europe. These education systems are to open themselves more.

Tasks and responsibilities:

  • Conduct the Leonardo da Vinci European vocational training programme and the Grundtvig programme in the adult education field in Germany as part of the EU Education Programme for Lifelong Learning.
  • National Europass Centre (NEC)
  • Conduct study visits for vocational education and training players in Germany as part of the EU study visits programme.
  • The National Agency additionally informs about activities being undertaken to implement the European Union's 2010 work programme.
