BWP 6/2008

Training instruction personnel

This issue of BWP focuses on qualification requirements and (new) skill profiles for training personnel. Current research findings are presented and the outlooks for national and European developments are outlined. The articles in this issue also sketch different paths for training / professionalising training personnel. In his commentary, Manfred Kremer, president of the Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (BIBB), draws attention to the importance of skill standards for vocational training personnel in light of the fact that the quality of their work is crucial to the vocational training system's ability to meet the many and diverse challenges facing it. This issue also contains articles on the cancellation of apprenticeship contracts in the Swiss Canton of Berne, the development of skill standards in in-company vocational training at a large company and on legal issues arising in connection with part-time vocational training.
